31.10.2011 From 1 January 2011, a new reimbursement scheme was introduced covering certain types of healthcare services received in the EEA.
27.09.2012 Under this scheme, you are entitled to reimbursement of the cost of healthcare services if you are a compulsory member of the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme and are also a citizen of Norway or of another EEA country.
10.01.2011 To be reimbursed under this scheme, you must fulfil the same conditions that apply in Norway for the specific type of treatment received. You are not entitled to reimbursement of the cost of healthcare services that are not medically necessary.
10.01.2011 You pay the cost of any healthcare services you receive in the EEA yourself, and subsequently submit a reimbursement claim form to HELFO.
10.01.2011 Claims for the reimbursement of travel expenses must be made on a separate form and must be submitted to HELFO together with the claim for reimbursement of the cost of healthcare services.
