How is it possible to send the exemption card automatically?
Every time you pay a patient user fee for health services that come under user fee group 1, information about the user fee paid is sent to HELFO and registered for you. No information concerning diagnosis, medication or health condition is registered.
Once you reach the upper limit for user fees (NOK 1.880.- for 2011) your exemption card will automatically be mailed to the address registered by the National Population Register (Folkeregisteret). If you have paid more than the upper limit, the excess amount will be reimbursed to your bankaccount.
Automatic exemption card only for user fee group 1
User fee group 1 covers examination and treatment by doctors, psychologists, outpatient and x-ray clinics, travel expenses in connection with examination and treatment, as well as important medicines and medical equipment obtained through the “blue prescription” scheme.
Right to opt out (reservasjon)
You may opt out of the automatic exemption card scheme; however, if you do, your exemption card will not be mailed to you automatically. You will then be responsible yourself for collecting your user fee receipts and applying for the exemption card. If you want to opt out, you must send in the form that you find under the link to the right.
No special receipt card (kvitteringskort) for 2011
All the user fees are automatically collected, therefore receipt card (kvitteringskort) will no longer be issued.
It is important that you keep all your receipts regarding user fees throughout the entire year for the purposes of your own control. When you receive your exemption card, you will also receive a list of all user fees registered. Check your own receipts up against the list, and control that they are registered. If you have questions, call 815 70 050.
Patient travel
Helseforetakenes senter for pasientreiser ANS is responsible for handling patient transport. If your travel to examination or treatment that is preapproved by Helseforetakenes senter for pasientreiser ANS, they will send information regarding the user fees to HELFO. The user fee is automatically registered as part of the user fees that entitle you to the exemption card.
